Parked at Loch Farlary
in Dunrobin Glen and climbed Ben Horn via Bridge of Horn and Loch Horn.
Continued north to Meall Horn and returned via wide
south-western ridge of Meall Meadhoin,
Meall Dubh and Meall Odhar. Fine weather. Close proximity
to Kilbraur wind farm. |

Interesting and scenic walk in
fine weather. Visited a few township and shieling ruins on the way. Fine
example of a corn drying kiln at road-end township. |

Fine day with powdered snow underfoot. Started at
the old bridge and walked the road to Sluggan
Bridge. Continued to Dalnahaitnach and walked south
up An Sluggan Dubh and then west to Garbh-mheall Mor. Good views out into surrounding
wilderness. Returned via Garbh-mheall Beag. |

Wintry day with wind, rain, sleet, snow and deep snow underfoot. Folllowed
the Rob Roy Way west out of Amulree along past the
loch. Township ruins observed at various points. Returned via the road. |

Took the stalker’s path opposite the cemetery,
joining the Lienassie path near a few sturdy
shieling ruins. From the bealach, ascended right of the crags to meet the
final summit ridge. Dry day with thawing snow underfoot. Mountainous
surroundings frequently obscured by cloud. |

Ascended from Dal Righ,
up the Cononish glen. Climbed the southern outlier
and approached from the 731m bealach. Cloudy all day so little visibility.
Departed summit due south for the descent. Patchy snow. |

Mostly clear visibility throughout walk but cloud evident on surrounding hills. Superb views
of Stob Choire Claurigh
and Stob Ban. Snow much depleted but crampons used on ascent of Cruach Innse. |

Fine weather on the ascent with surrounding tops
clear of cloud and covered in snow. Increasing wind and snow eventually
reduced visibility and extended snow cover down to road level. Impressive
mountain scenery, increasingly wintry, with deep snow along the main summit
ridge. Many deer lower down. |

Beautiful day with blue sky, sunshine and moderate
wind. Superb scenery. |

Nice day, mainly sunny with light wind. Arduous
ascent which belied the modest height of the mountain. Continued west to Sgurr a’ Chaorainn for descent
into Coire na Laire. Superb views of Garbh Bheinn. Saw frogs, toads,
lizards and an adder. |

Nice sunny day with strong wind. All surrounding
tops clear of cloud, some with significant snow covering. Ascended the main
ridge over Meall nan Gobhar.
Descended west from summit then north and north-east through Coire Cruinn, Coire Leacach and Coire
Criche. Excellent mountain scenery. |

Superb hill. Ascended and descended over Creag
nan Saighead and Meall Reamhar. Also visited north top. Excellent views of
neighbouring Munros and beyond, including Loch Katrine. Nice clear day with
very strong wind on the tops. |

Fine clear day with cold wind. Walked up Glen Kendrum and climbed the coire
headwall to ascend Creag Mac Ranaich from the
north. Approached Meall an t-Seallaidh
up southern slopes of Cam Chreag after navigational
error. |

Followed fence line to high ground. Enjoyable walk with reasonable weather

Walked from the foot of Glen Croe
to the Bealach Dubh-lic and climbed both hills from
there. Descended south-west ridge of The Brack to return via Coilessan Glen. Very hot and sunny day. |

Clockwise walk from Brig o’ Turk up Glen Finglas.
Wind, rain and low cloud persisted until the ascent
of Ben Ledi when it all cleared for a spectacular,
sunny finish. Great day out. Apparent stone tool found on Ben Ledi fence line at approximate location 560-099. |

Low cloud obscured views so returned via the same route. Visited Inversnaid and Stronachlachar

former Munro. Descended via the ascent route. Sunny start, clear summit and
light, misty rain on the descent. Visited Inveraray prior to the walk and 18th
century military bridge (Butterbridge) afterwards. |

southern face. Clear ascent but fine cloud obscured summit views. Decsended via Lochan nan Cnaimh

Ascended from Loch Lubnaig
on a hot, sunny day. Excellent stalker’s path from the ruins of Bhothan Eas an Eoin to the
summit. Descended south to Bealach Coire nan Saighead
and up Meall na Caora before turning west. Superb summit views including Stuc a’ Chroin and the
intervening coire. |

Very windy but otherwise pleasant with clear
visibility throughout the walk. Excellent views of neighbouring hills and the
Rest and Be Thankful pass. |

Dull, cloudy day with light showers. Surrounding
hills frequently visible in between passing cloud. Ascended below crags to
top out east of Creag Bhrosgan. Ascended this top
and proceeded to Binnein an Fhidhleir.
Returned east to the Corbett, then along the north-east ridge past the 748m
top. Descended a grassy gully into Coire Creagach and Glen Kinglas. |

Superb day in spite of
poor forecast. Windy with occasional rain and cloud but good views throughout
the walk. Walked from Ben Venue car park up Gleann Riabhach.
Lower glen devastated by forestry work but upper glen very scenic. Good path
all the way to the summit. Descended grassy slopes from the 727m trig point
to regain path. |

Followed the Allt Coire
Ghlais to the Lairig Torran pass and ascended from
the north. Returned via the east ridge and the Monadh
Driseag trig. This hill occupies a superb setting
with excellent views of the Cruachan range and
along Loch Awe. |

Grim start with wind, rain
and low cloud. Conditions started to improve on ascent of second hill with
fleeting glimpses of distant scenery. Glorious finish with sun, warmth and blue sky. Got to see most of the scenery
eventually. |

The Storr & Hartaval, Trotternish Ridge, Skye. |

Ascended into Coire Faoin
and explored the various rock pinnacles, including the Old Man of Storr.
Proceeded north and climbed the north-east ridge of the Storr. Continued
north-west to Hartaval then south-east to Bealach Beag. Descended via easy path through cleft in crags on
north bank of a burn. Visited township ruins on return to road. Sunny day,
brisk wind. |

Poor forecast but reasonable day, overcast with
cloud on the highest tops. Followed the path from Kinlochleven
to Meall na Cruaidhe then ascended the south-western slopes.
Descended due west to cross the Loch Eilde Mor
causeway and pick up the track back. |

Parked at Kylerhea and
climbed the long east ridge, passed the east top and the summit lochan.
Descended north passed another lochan then round to Bealach Udal and the road
back. Pleasant day but cold and breezy high up with cloud obscuring
visibility. Also visited wildlife viewing hide along the track from the car
park. |

Sunny day with clear, blue sky. Superb visibility
and impressive scenery. Approached along Gleann Leac na
Muidhe and climbed the south ridge of Meall Mor. Descended SSW to climb Meall
a’ Bhuige and Sgorr a’ Choise. Direct return on outward route. |

Suisnish & Boreraig, Skye. |

Townships cleared in 1853. Walked the road to the
ruined church of Cill Chriosd
then took the Suisnish path through Kilchrist.
Visited Dun Kearstach, an apparent iron-age
fortification, and a hut circle west of the dun. Walked the coastal path from
Suisnish to Boreraig then
followed the excellent path north to Strath Suardal. |

Walked the Monzie track
past Shinagag and up the southern slopes of Meall Breac. Direct ascent of the hill from end of track.
Descended towards Stac nam Bodach to join the track
back to Shinagag. Rutting stags observed on the
northern slopes of the Stac. Good views of the neighbouring Munros in between
occasional cloud cover. |
3rd November |
Meall a’ Mhuic, Glen Lyon. |

Superb little walk on a clear sunny day with cold
wind. Excellent views of the Lawers range covered
in snow. Walked up the Lairig Ghallabhaich to the
shielings on the watershed then followed the old fence-line to the summit.
Descended west to the Lairig a’ Mhuic and the track
back to Innerwick. Substantial stone structures
evident well above the Allt a’ Mhuic
coincided with old shielings marked on the map. |

Mostly clear day. Cold with occasional cloud
cover and snow down to low levels. Good view along Loch Arkaig
from the summit. Followed the forestry track up Gleann Cia-aig to the footbridge then ascended the hill from the
north. Descended south-west to the Allt Dubh for
the path to Achnasaul. |

and snow underfoot. Circular walk from Linn of Dee on road, tracks and heather. Superb views from summit. Continued to

Walked the road and track from Amulree past Girron farmstead.
Climbed Creag Ghorm then on to the main tops,
returning north to the track. Clear day, no snow. |

Parked near the bridge over the Sletdale Burn and followed a track west. Ascended
north-west to Creag a’ Bhodaich then north-east to Beinn Dhorain. Continued north
to Ben Uarie accompanied by increasingly fierce
wind. Descended to the north-west then traversed around Ben Uarie to reach the road. Dull day, good visibility, no
rain. Great little walk. |

Interesting short walk for the year’s shortest
day. Wet and windy with hail on the high ground. Good views of surrounding
snowy Munros. Clockwise walk from Braemore Junction
past Home Loch and up to Bealach nam Buthan. Climbed the main top, continued to Meall nan Doireachan and
descended its south-east ridge to road. |

Wet and windy day. Anticlockwise walk from the
parking area on Loch Beannacharain. Walked east
along the road to pick up the track which starts south of the summit. Visited
both summit cairns then followed the fence-line to Lochan na
Croraig, descending south-west to car. Superb view
of the crags on Creag Ghlas, hazier views of Meallan nan Uan. |
